The video will use a paper stop motion collage style with magazine clippings, layered textures, and a lot of open space for lyrics to be added in post. The song is already pretty literal, but I want to play with that by interpreting certain lines in unexpected ways. Such as occasionally switching cut outs of real planes with paper planes. The song is definitely a representation of the times as until recently people were not always “plugged-in” with endless information at their fingertips. I want the audience to feel understood and comforted and feel a sense of relief in the idea of stepping away. Everyone has wanted to disconnect at some point, and this video should visually capture that universal feeling. The lyrics will be animated in post and fill the spaces left intentionally empty.
